Where we started
We started in 2013 as a group of Students, Faculty and Staff of Missouri State University-West Plains searching for a way to help our community. We found that the best way to help our community, was to help the youth. For eight years we have hosted events, raising over $15,000 for organizations like the Bridges Initiative, the Child Advocacy Center, Childs Play, Samaritans Outreach, Christos House, and other organizations that assist children in our community. In 2022, we decided it was time to become bigger then just a student organization throwing together geeky events and that was when Always a Future for Kids (AFK Foundation) was born and with your help we want to make a positive impact on as many children's lives as we can.
What is our vision?
Our vision is to build a network of volunteers, infrastructure and resources to host events, raise money, and support youth that have been in the most terrible situations.
How do we fullfil our vision?
The answer is actually much easier than we could have ever imagined; it really takes an effort of stepping away from our keyboards and building the infrastructure we need to make it happen. We are working with community leaders and other non-profit leaders to fullfil there needs when we can.
What do we need to be successful?
